Saturation Variants

Each hue family has three saturation tiers that control how vivid or muted a color appears:

Lightness Scale

Numbers 100–1000 go from light to dark. Each step also has a natural-language alias:

100 lightest · 200 verylight · 300 lighter · 400 light · 500 bright · 600 mid · 700 dark · 800 darker · 900 verydark · 1000 darkest

Design Tokens & Aliases

Every color has multiple interchangeable names. For example, a muted light purple can be referenced as any of:

purple-m400 purple-muted-400
purple-m-light purple-muted-light

Use whichever style feels natural — they all resolve to the same color. Numeric names are compact for code; named aliases are readable in design discussions.
